Rage against the machine for Christmas Number 1
Article about the grassroots campaign make Rage Against the Machine this years Christmas Number 1 in the United Kingdom
I really am not a fan of the X Factor and even less Simon Cowell. I feel the X Factor format forces an extremely narrow view on talent placing unfair expectations on naive individuals thrusted into the lime light to endure the wrath of the tabloid press. Ironically I enjoy watching Britain's Got Talent and seeing a wider range of acts and the praise given to the minority of acts with true talents. But if I am honest it is the same choreographed manufactured television designed to dumb down society so its easier to oppress. There is now an effort to stop yet another Simon Cowell act from becoming number one this Christmas and hence save society from itself.
So as an act of social disobedience spend £0.99 on Rage Against the Machine's 'Killing in the Name' and stop the drudgery of manufactured music acts. If you are not automatically convinced by the idea you should check out the campaigns facebook group page, Rage against the machine for Christmas No.1.
If you are going to take part remember to buy Killing in the Name on iTunes after the 13th December 2009 to ensure your purchase is counted.
