Like me you probably want to delete sample books you have no interest in purchasing. Unfortunately this is not immediately apparent. This article will explain how.

Now I have had my Kindle a few days I am starting to browse the Kindle bookstore and download sample version of books ahead of purchasing them. When you download the sample version of the book you can typically read the first chapter of the book and see if you want to purchase the title. It is like flicking through a book when your in a bookshop on the high street.
Like me you probably want to delete sample books you have no interest in purchasing. Unfortunately this is not immediately apparent. I expected to find the option within the primary menu displayed after you press the menu button while on home screen or within the sample book. This is not the case.
However I have put together a new nifty step by step guide to explain how to find the delete function and remove the sample book from your Kindle.
Instructions for deleting sample books from your Kindle
- Go to the homepage on your Kindle by pressing the 'Home' button on the right hand side of the device keyboard.
- Select the sample book you would like to delete by using the five-way toggle button to scroll to the item.
- Press the five-way toggle to the left. This will then gray out the title and author to reveal a delete button. This button will be highlighted. Press the five-way toggle to begin the process.
- You will then be presented with a 'Delete Item' dialogue window with the message, 'This item will be permanently deleted. Would you like to continue?'.
- Press the five-way toggle to confirm that you would like to delete this sample book. Else select the 'Cancel' button press the five-way toggle.
The book will now have vanished from your Kindle.
