Google Chrome now available for Apple Mac and Linux
This article is a quick run down on the 8th December announcement for new Google Chrome Beta for Apple Mac and Linux versions

On Tuesday 8th December Google released beta versions of the Chrome browser for Apple Mac and Linux computers running either Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora or openSUSE. However the really exciting news for me as an Ubuntu user is the 64bit version of Chrome.
Like the Microsoft Windows version of the Chrome browser the Linux version also focuses greatly on fast, secure and stable browsing with HTML5 support for the next generation of Web Applications. The version for the Apple Mac does seem slightly behind the Linux version. Currently support for extensions is only available on Windows and Linux.
I imagine this is the result of demands on developers to code the Linux components required by the browser and hence interface for the Google Chrome OS netbook operating system. According to the Google Chrome Blog:
More than 50 open source contributors have worked on Chromium and they've been especially helpful on delivering our Linux version of Google Chrome.

Google presently seems to be full stream ahead. Developing both the next generation browser and operating system. 2010 could be a year full of exciting announcements for free software?
