Comments about Adobe producing a Linux optimized version of its creative suite

Comments about Adobe producing a Linux optimized version of its creative suite has been bounded around by John C. Dvorak for sometime now.

In his Market Watch column, How Adobe can stop Microsoft saying Adobe could port its Creative Suite to Linux as a shot across Redmond's bow.

This maybe true possibly increasingly likely especially with the continued development of pro-tools by Apple which Adobe previously enjoyed a monopoly over. To add further weight the comment made by Steve Jobs Apple CEO in March proclaimed the mobile version of Adobe Flash limited and the desktop equivalent to be bulkware.

So what should Adobe do? Well I think that John C. Dvorak raises an interesting point. But would Adobe be wise to go it alone and produce a tweaked Linux desktop distribution for there Creative Suite.

Looking in from a frosted window it would be unlikely that Adobe would have the interest to develop yet another distribution of Linux and much prefer to create a relationship with an existing vendor.

Possibly on either Ubuntu or openSUSE.

Interesting as this all seems I do feel that there would ever be a Linux version of the Creative Suite while Linux retains its stigma of being an operating system for geeks and nerds. Possible instant-on versions of Linux and mobile phone operating systems will do much to alter the landscape and opinions of Linux.
