Student Engineer - Halcrow Group Ltd
Job title: Student Engineer.
Employed: July - September 2005.
In the summer of 2005 I worked for the Halcrow Group in their project office in Bedford. I took this position to get valuable experience working outside of education. My main task during my employment was to undertake a research project covering the competitors of Halcrow's pedestrian software, Paxport. Pedestrian modelling software is used to examine the movement of simulated people around new public building designs with the purpose of identify bottle necks in emergency scenarios.

The research was used to gather information about alternative products and report the capabilities in a competitor analysis. This was completed by reviewing the competitors products as published on the Internet. The result of completed work facilitated the second phase; to identify content appropriate for a Paxport microsite on the Halcrow Intranet. The purpose of the site was to promote and raise awareness of Paxport within the organisation for inclusion with future contact bids.

I am a graduate of Lougborough University where I read Computing and Management BSc (Hons) earning a 2:1 classification.
