Web Developer - Andalucia Web Solutions

Job title: Web Developer.

Employed: July 2007 - July 2008.

For my placement I found employment at Andalucia Web Solutions an Internet media company. This placement required me to relocate for 13 months to the south of Spain where the organisation operates. Along with operating an information portal and a sister company Andalucia.com, Andalucia Web Solutions delivers to its customers website development and hosting solutions. While employed by Andalucia Web Solutions I worked as the Web Developer in the Operations Team.

My responsibilities included constructing and modifying client websites, updating content and the advertisement inventory on Andalucia.com and preparing the monthly newsletter. The newsletter was sent to clients and friends of Andalucia Web Solutions and Andalucia.com. Seven days after the newsletter was sent the management team would meet and I would report statistics such as the number of successful deliveries and number of recipients on the mailing list.

This employment provided me with an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience working closely with clients through meetings, phone calls and email to deliver high quality and successful products by identifying their needs. The key result from this experience was to identify the subject for my dissertation. I decided to develop a Project Management web application for tracking the progress of projects against their planned duration’s.
